covid-19-virusThe timeline for COVID-19 vaccine distribution is a topic of great concern for all of us. Family Practice Center is doing everything we can to help keep our patients informed. All of our healthcare providers have received their first round of COVID-19 vaccinations. As of January 7, 2021, we currently do NOT have vaccines available for the general public but we will notify all patients via MyChart, our website, and our Family Practice Center Facebook page when we have them in office. Below is some information about the current state of vaccine distribution in Georgia as well as the facilities in our local area who are currently offering the vaccine to those who meet eligibility criteria:

Georgia is currently in Phase 1A for COVID vaccines which includes healthcare workers and long term care facility residents. Effective January 11, 2021 the expanded list of individuals eligible for vaccination in Phase 1A will include:

  • Healthcare workers in clinical settings (e.g., nurses, physicians, EMS, laboratory technicians, environmental services)
  • Staff and residents of long-term care facilities
  • All law enforcement and fire personnel (including volunteer departments)
  • Adults aged 65 and older (and their caregivers as applicable)
