Sara is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Family Practice Center in the fall of 2022. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University and graduated with honors in 2013. She began her nursing journey at The Shepherd Center, an Atlanta based rehabilitation hospital, where she focused on caring for patients with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Her passion for preventive medicine was the catalyst that sent her back to school to complete her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016. She returned to the world of rehabilitation, by joining Wellstar Kennestone Hospital as a nurse practitioner on an inpatient neurological rehabilitation unit, managing acute and chronic comorbidities. After many years of treating acutely ill patients, she realized her passion still resides in preventive medicine. Although she covers all aspects of patient care, Sara specializes in the management and treatment of anxiety, depression, insomnia, metabolic syndrome (including diabetes, hyperlipidemia), and women’s health.
In her spare time, she loves hiking with her husband and sons, trail running, and baking. She believes nutrition and exercise are critical aspects of health.
