Dr. Steve Schramm joined Family Practice Center in 1987 and became a partner in 1992. Dr. Schramm graduated from Harvard College and then earned his medical degree from Rutgers University, Piscataway, New Jersey. He then completed a Family Practice Residency at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, where he served as Chief Resident.
He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and has been board certified six times between 1987-2025. He is the former Chief of Northside Hospital’s Family Practice Department. In 1999, he compiled the first Family Practice Database for JMJ Technologies’ Encounterpro, an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). In May 2001, Dr. Schramm was nominated for the Physician’s category for the Georgia Health Care Heroes Awards. Dr. Schramm was selected as a Top Doctor by Atlanta Magazine, Modern Luxury – The Atlantan Magazine, & Castle Connolly. When Dr. Schramm is not working, he enjoys golf, swimming and bird watching. Throughout his youth, he was a nationally ranked springboard diver, winning dozens of state championships. He was an Eastern US champion in both high school and college and an NCAA semi-finalist. He is also a trained classical pianist.
