Cassandra Barnes is a board-certified family physician who joined Family Practice Center in September 2020. A native of Acworth, Georgia, Cassandra attended The University of Tampa on an academic and softball scholarship where she received her Bachelor of Science degree.
Dr. Barnes began her career in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant with a hospice agency while in college. She then became a medical assistant for a local family practice before receiving her doctorate degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Dr. Barnes completed her Family Medicine residency training at Baton Rouge General and was awarded with the Behavioral Science award by her preceptors. Her primary clinical interests include preventive medicine, acute and chronic illnesses, behavior health and women’s health. Outside of work, she enjoys watching and playing sports, traveling, cooking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
