Dr. Gary Wiley Price is an internal medicine physician who joined Family Practice Center in 2026. He was born and raised in a blue collar family near Chattanooga, Tennessee, and he was the first in his family to graduate from college. While in college, he played NCAA Division I baseball as a pitcher for the University of Tennessee at Martin where he received the Ohio Valley Conference Scholar Athlete award before earning his bachelor’s degree in biology with summa cum laude honors.
After graduating college, Dr. Price earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee and completed his internal medicine residency at Emory University. At Emory, he earned a Distinction in Medical Education and received the Outstanding Resident in Primary Care Award. Dr. Price has also been selected to serve as a physician for major film productions and high-profile professionals in the entertainment industry. He enjoys teaching medical students and resident physicians, and his academic work has included NIH-supported research, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at major medical conferences.
As an internist, Dr. Price received specialized training in comprehensive adult medicine, including the primary care of patients with multiple or complex medical conditions. His approach emphasizes attention to detail and care coordination. His clinical interests include preventive medicine, men’s health, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, sleep medicine, and behavioral health.
He is known for building genuine, long-term relationships with his patients. He believes strongly that his role as a physician is to equip patients with the comprehensive information they need so that they can make their own decisions about their health. Therefore, he spends careful time translating medical jargon into clear, everyday language that patients can actually use.
