Jessica Harris, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Family Practice Center in 2026. Originally from Florida, Jessica earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner from Florida State University.
Jessica began her healthcare career as a registered nurse and caring for patients primarily in emergency medicine and the medical intensive care unit. Her experience caring for acutely and critically ill patients gave her a strong clinical foundation and appreciation for the importance of preventive care, early intervention, and long-term management of health conditions.
While completing her doctoral education at Florida State University, Jessica also served as a teaching assistant, helping educate nursing students in foundational nursing skills and clinical practice and assisting with simulation-based education in FSU’s Simulation Center. During nursing school, she volunteered with Big Bend Hospice, the American Red Cross, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. These experiences helped shape her belief that education, compassion, and clear communication are essential parts of excellent patient care.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Jessica’s clinical interests include preventive and lifestyle medicine, women’s health, chronic disease management, and the evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. She is interested in helping patients understand how nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and lifestyle factors can play an important role in preventing and managing chronic disease. Her background has reinforced her belief in addressing health concerns early and helping patients make realistic, sustainable changes that support their long-term health. Jessica strives to create an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing their concerns.
Outside of medicine, Jessica is especially proud to be the mother of a son serving in the United States Air Force. She is also a devoted dog mom to two Golden Retrievers. In her free time, she enjoys Pilates, traveling, trying new restaurants, playing mahjong, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.
Jessica believes the best healthcare is a partnership between the patient and provider. She strives to create an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing their concerns.
